Greetings, fellow gerbils!
Hey there, it's Gerry here! As you may have gathered, I am a gerbil and this is a blog about my life on this planet. I appear to humans through a machine called the GerbilMaestro, which is an exact copy of my master. I control this machine and most of the time pretend to be my master in front of other humans.
I hope you enjoy reading my blog. Thanks a gerbillion!

Weekly News Round-Up #21: 03/03/2013

Well, hello there! Here we are for another installment of the Weekly News Round-Up. Our top stories this week...

After what seemed to be a rather exciting weekend that ANT had, she came in on Monday morning and expressed her smugness at beating her grandad at Scrabble, a feat that she had not managed before.

It has become apparent to us all that Simon Wicks is perhaps Brian Cox's biggest fan. Almost every item that she owns has his face on it. Wicks has it down to the last detail, that is the Brian Cox mouse mat.

On the way back home that day, Wadz and Master had a little debate about whether their Geography teacher looks more like Martin Freeman or Elijah Wood. You'll hear more about this on Day 26 of the 40 Days of Lent.

On Tuesday morning, Ruby, the Beckster, ANT and Master had to write 100 words on a particular law, which they chose to be that you must be 18 or over to get a tattoo. It was rather amusing to see ANT and Master trying to drag it out and put unnecessary words in to make it longer. In the end, they wrote 102 words :)

Tuesday's PE lesson saw us having an interesting little discussion: If you have 16 troops and they all had to have the same weapon, would you give them spears or cross-bows? Well, there's something to think about...

I think it is fair to say that, this week, Wadz has proved herself to be the biggest blagger of all time. She has managed to get herself out of a record number of Geography homeworks and even tried to educate ArwaChihuahua on the Art of Blagging at one point in the week. Trust me, she has a solution for every situation you could possibly be in if you haven't done your homework.

On Thursday, Ruby accidentally sliced her finger open with a sewing machine in Textiles. But please do not be too concerned as she is not in any immediate life-threatening danger, she came in on Friday with a bandaged finger. We hope your finger is better soon, Ruby :)

On Friday, Wicks had a brilliant story to tell us, it was described to be 'a beautiful moment': In Wicks' Drama class, their group was doing a certain piece and a senior of the school was meant to be accompanying them on the piano. One member of the group goes and plays the accompaniment for the 'I like the flowers' song. At this point, the senior looks over with the 'how dare you' look, and then just casually starts playing the melody. Whatta moment.

This week's main story has been largely controversial within the group. Our lunchtime hangout has a new contender, it seems our current wall is facing rivalry from a wall around the corner. This new wall is on a slight slope, the gradient practical, with trees and grass surrounding it. Wadz has been trying to sell it to us all, but it seems that Wicks, Ruby and ANT still prefer the old wall. Afterwards, ANT said, "I think it's right that we stick with the wall that we've been at for the last 4 years for the rest of our time this year." So, this week we shall have to see what happens...

Until next week, have a good one :)
